Before the party
Some celebrations don’t fit a label: a name day that fills the house, a silver wedding anniversary, a housewarming, a school reunion twenty years on, a hen or stag night, a send-off before someone moves abroad. They are often the best parties, and their photos are the most likely to get lost.
Start with a digital invitation that has the date, the place on a map, a countdown and the schedule, dressed in a theme that suits the night. The RSVP counts adults and children, takes meal choices and allergies, sends reminders and gives you a CSV for the taverna or caterer. In the feed, old friends post the photos from twenty years ago before anyone arrives.
On the night
A QR code by the door or on the tables, and guests share photos and videos in full quality with no app and no account. Put the live photo wall on a TV and the party starts watching itself. Stories catch the quick moments, song requests keep the dance floor honest, and a quiz or a poll breaks the ice between guests who don’t know each other, with a leaderboard at the end. Photo challenges like “an old photo next to a new one” work well at reunions.
For a hen or stag night, keep it among friends with an album password and approval before anything shows, see privacy and moderation.
After the party
The next morning everyone sees the whole night. Download everything, and turn the written wishes for an anniversary couple or a friend who is leaving into a wishbook PDF. On Signature, add voice wishes and a highlight video.
Name days and other customs
In Cyprus, «ονομαστικές γιορτές», name days, are often celebrated more than birthdays. On the feast of the saint you are named after, friends and family call or drop by to wish «Χρόνια πολλά», and many keep an open house all day, with guests coming and going. Big name days like Saint George on 23 April or the Dormition on 15 August, when every Maria celebrates, can fill a house and a garden. Send the link in the morning and watch the album grow through the day. Guest pages speak English, Greek and Russian. Ideas for the season are in our guides to places across Cyprus, and smaller celebrations are on birthdays.
